Food Safety Closures and Recalls

Recreational Seafood Harvesting Closures

For clam, crab, and mussel biotoxin closure information visit Oregon Department of Agriculture Recreational Shellfish Biotoxin Closures or call 1-800 448-2474.

Find a Recent Food Safety Recall

Visit Food and Drug Administration Recalls and USDA Recalls & Public Health Alerts for national recall information.

Why this matters

Recalled foods can cause illness, especially for people who are pregnant, older adults, or anyone with a weakened immune system.

Check products carefully

Recalls are very specific. All details such as brand, product name, date, and ID numbers must match exactly. If your product does not match every detail, it is not part of the recall.

If your product does match the recall:

  • Do not open or eat it.
  • Return it to the store for a refund, or
  • Throw it away following the instructions in the recall notice to make sure no one uses it.
