Public health is based on the idea that everyone should have a chance to be as healthy and safe as possible in their community. Public health workers include many people with different skills, all working together to protect people from getting sick or hurt. 

While health care providers treat individual people, public health works to improve health at the community level, often adopting strategies that prevent community members from ever getting sick in the first place. At Lincoln County Public Health, we provide a variety of services to help our community stay healthy, including:

  • Restaurant inspections
  • Tracking disease trends
  • Harm reduction services
  • Home visits for families with young children
  • Educational events and materials to promote health
