Permits

The Road Department requires permits for activities that are performed within the County Right-of-Way. Activities included in the permitting system include utility work, driveway access, and vegetation management.

The Lincoln County Code addresses definitions for these activities.

Transportation permits are also required if hauling loads that are over-dimension. Contact the Public Works Department for complete information regarding load configurations.

Perform Operations Permit (PDF)Permit to Perform Operations on a County Road: This permit is for: Installation, repair and/or replacement of utilities, special events such as Parades and Marathons, and temporary road closures. There is a $150 fee for this application, although it does not apply to Public Utilities. Instructions are included. Please sign the application before submitting it.
Access Permit (PDF)Permit to Construct Road Approach: This permit is for work associated with adding a new driveway access, or changing the use of an existing access. There is a $100 fee for this application. Instructions are included. Please sign the application before submitting it.
No-Spray Permit (PDF)Permit to Control Vegetation: This permit is for those who wish an alternative to herbicides. The applicant agrees to keep brush and vegetation trimmed or removed. There is no fee for this application. Instructions are included. Please sign the application before submitting it.
