Construction Projects
In 2022, the Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT) Local Bridge Selection Committee selected two Lincoln County bridges for funding and programmed both for design during the 2021-2024 STIP cycle. Recently, the committee also selected these bridges for construction funding with a tentative replacement year of 2027. Please click each tab below for additional information currently available for each project.
CROWLEY CREEK BRIDGE REPLACEMENT
(N. Three Rocks Road)
The Crowley Creek bridge on N. Three Rocks Road is a non-Federal Aid bridge located approximately 2.20 miles west of Highway 101 at the northern end of Lincoln County. The timber bridge was constructed in 1958 and has succumbed to various degrees of wood-rot within its abutments, caps, and piles. It is also posted for weight restrictions and was previously given a sufficiency rating of 43 (out of 100) during a bi-annual inspection, resulting in a bridge rating of POOR.
The bridge provides access to popular parks and hiking trails but lacks sufficient shoulders wide enough to accommodate pedestrians. This creates both safety concerns and congestion as recreational traffic is heavy year-round.

A Notice to Proceed (NTP) for the design contract was issued in July 2024 and is currently in progress. The total cost of replacing the bridge is estimated at $2,434,000, including a 10.27% match provided by Lincoln County. Both the design contract and eventual construction are being administered by ODOT.

NORTH FORK BEAVER CREEK BRIDGE REPLACEMENT
(North Beaver Creek Road)
The North Fork Beaver Creek bridge on North Beaver Creek Road is a non-Federal Aid bridge located approximately 5.60 miles east of Highway 101 near Ona Beach, about mid-way between the cities of Waldport and Newport. The timber bridge is approximately 60 years old and has succumbed to various degrees of wood-rot within its abutments, caps, and piles. It is also posted for weight restrictions and was previously given a sufficiency rating of 43 (out of 100) during a bi-annual inspection, resulting in a bridge rating of POOR.
The bridge provides access to popular forest and timber-harvest areas as well as access to numerous rural, residential properties. The bridge’s condition and weight restrictions create safety concerns for transporting forest products and for providing reliable emergency access to remote areas of the County.
