Concealed Handgun Licensing 

The Sheriff's Office administers the concealed handgun licensing program for residents of Lincoln County. Each applicant is fingerprinted, photographed, and an extensive criminal, civil, and mental health background check is conducted. To qualify for a concealed handgun license you must:

• Be at least 21 years of age
• Be a U.S. citizen or have proof of application with intent to become a citizen
• Oregon Concealed Handgun License (CHL) Course and Certificate or provide written documentation which demonstrates that you have taken a handgun safety course (List of instructors in our area or online course (PDF))
• Pass background check
• Pay appropriate fees

As of Monday, May 12, 2025, an online application for Concealed Handgun Licenses, appointment scheduling, and payment of fees will now be offered through a third-party software vendor (Permitium).  Applicants will have the ability to apply online for a new license, renewal license, transfer of license, or change of license due to address/name change or loss of card.
