CHIP development begins with a Community Health Assessment (CHA), which Lincoln County completed in 2018 (full report Community Health Assessment (PDF)). Listening sessions were held with a wide variety of community groups to discuss the CHA results and to select 3 priority areas for the CHIP.
The current CHIP was developed through three workgroups. Each workgroup is responsible for a priority area. The three workgroups and priority areas are: Healthy Living, Mental Health Promotion and Community Resilience, and Substance Abuse Prevention.
Over November and December of 2019, each workgroup convened in two planning meetings. The purpose of these meetings was to develop the plan that will guide our community's work in these priority areas over the next five years.
The 2019 to 2024 CHIP was finalized in March 2020 and is being implemented through coordinated efforts between community-based organizations, engaged community members, and governmental agencies.
