Scholarship: Retired Sheriff John O’Brien Memorial Scholarship
Description: John O’Brien was appointed Sheriff in 1994 and was later elected. John began as a deputy in Lincoln County in 1973 and worked his way up the ranks to Sheriff. He retired in 2016. This scholarship was established in his honor to help students interested in the field of Criminal Justice.
Applicant Requirements:
- Graduate from any high school in Lincoln County with a 3.0 GPA or higher.
- Potential Areas of Study or Career: Criminal Justice
- Essay: Write a one-page essay with information specific to long-term goals surrounding your work in the Criminal Justice profession and what area of the criminal justice system you plan to focus on.
