Community Shelter and Resource Center
A Winter Shelter - “Community Shelter & Resource Center (CSRC)” - opened October 3, 2023 in Newport. The shelter operates at First Presbyterian Church in Newport until the permanent site opens at the former Crossroads building (351 SW 7th, Newport). We deeply thank St. Stephens Episcopal Church for their previous participation as shelter sites.
A Lincoln City shelter location in planned. Free public transit tickets are available to transport people to the Newport shelter.
This shelter is open seven days a week through March 2024.
A shelter is also in the works for this winter season for Lincoln City. The opening of this site is planned for late 2023.

The Community Shelter and Resource Center is a welcoming, safe environment for all, regardless of gender or sexual orientation.
We are looking for volunteers! There will always be two paid staff at the shelter, but volunteers are of great assistance to helping the program run smoothly. Consider joining us an evening or early morning, any day of the week.

Volunteer Opportunities at the Community Shelter and Resource Centers (CSRC).
All volunteers must pass a background check through Lincoln County Human Resources and complete volunteer orientation and training before volunteering with shelter guests.
Food Services volunteers must pass the Food Handler's test.
Monetary, in-kind, and supply donations will be accepted. Socks, shoes and warm clothing is in high demand.
We will have donation contact information soon.
The Community Shelter and Resource Center (CSRC) will have locations in Newport and Lincoln City this year. The Newport shelter is open.

- Check-in 6pm - 7pm.
- Line-up begins at 5:30pm - this is strictly enforced.
- Shelter closes at 7am the next morning.
