Payment Options for Property Taxes

The 2018 property tax statement will be mailed by October 25, 2018.

All property owners receive a tax statement. If you do not receive a tax statement by November 1st, call the tax office at (541) 265-4139.

The Tax Collector accepts Credit, Debit Card, or E-Check online for property tax payments.

Please Note: Credit Card, Debit Card, or E-Check payments CANNOT be accepted at the Tax Collector’s Office or by phone. Payments will be accepted online via the internet only. This service is provided by a financial institution charging a service fee to you the taxpayer.

Property taxes may be paid in installments using one of the following schedules.

Payment must have a postmark no later than November 15th. If the postmark is later than November 15th, discount is not allowed and interest will accrue on the past due installment. The interest rate is 1.333% per month or fraction of a month until paid. (ORS 311.505)

  • When paying by mail, make your check or money order payable to Lincoln County Tax Collector.
  • Return the lower portion of your tax statement with your check using the enclosed blue envelope. The return envelope can be used for the November 15th payment, February 15th and May 15th payment. All payments must be mailed directly to the Lincoln County Tax Office.
  • Mail your payment to 225 W Olive Street, Room 205, Newport, OR 97365

November 15th Payment Only

Lincoln County banks will accept tax payments until November 15th for the current year tax. If you owe delinquent taxes, payment must be made by mail or at the Tax Office.

We do not accept a debit or credit card payment at the counter of the tax office. The tax office is closed November 10th, in observance of Veterans Day.

All personal property tax is delinquent when any installment is not paid on time. The responsible taxpayer can be served with a lien warrant 30 days after delinquency. The lien warrant will affect your credit rating.

Real property tax is delinquent if not paid in full by May 15th. Foreclosure proceedings on real property begin three years from the date of delinquency.

If your check is returned from your bank, a $25.00 processing fee will be added to your account. If the total amount due and the $25.00 fee is not paid by the due date on the tax statement, no discount will be allowed and interest will accrue per ORS 311.505.

Two Party Checks are NOT accepted.
